How to Join


Join Us      The Neighborhood Group is where you find local community fellowship and share your love of sewing with friends. Your sewing expertise, on any level, is always welcome as we explore a broad variety of fiber related topics such as garment sewing, quilting, home decor, smocking and needle work and many related crafts. The Neighborhood Group is where the fun begins! Expand your creative talents, get new ideas and keep up with latest trends and tools in the notions world. There is place for everyone in a Neighborhood Group. Even youth (under 17) can join in an effort to "Teach Another Generation (TAG).  

The Neighborhood Groups in this Chapter are located throughout the central region of South Carolina, with groups currently in Columbia, Lexington, Aiken, North Augusta, Greenwood, Summerville, Charleston, Beaufort and Myrtle Beach. Neighborhood Groups can be located wherever there is a desire to promote the love and art of sewing. Let us know if there is a need in your area and our team will assist you in developing a group. 

You can become a member of ASG by going on-line to the national website ( and completing your membership application. Designate your choice of Chapter as Central Savannah River-South Carolina. Once your annual membership has been paid, you are a member and can visit any Neighborhood Group, (not just in this chapter but nationwide-a great feature if you travel!) participate in exciting Chapter events, receive discounts at many retailers, and work on charity projects that give back to the communities. You will also receive our informative bi-monthly newsletter that will keep you up to date on all our events and a quarterly National publication highlighting ASG chapters, merchants, instructors and learn a new skill with each magazine. 

We welcome you to become a part of our Chapter and participate in sharing the love of sewing.
